How to explain astronomy to a little boy?

Father is trying to explain astronomy to his son.

Father: That is a comet[1].

Son: A what?

Father: A comet.  Don't you know what a comet is?

Son: No.

Father: Don't you know what they call a star[2] with a tail[3]?

Son: A star with a tail? Sure[4] - Mickey Mouse!

Why is it so?

A middle aged woman was driving through a school zone when a police-man pulled her over for speeding. As he was giving her the ticket, she said, "How come[5] I always get a ticket[6] and everyone else gets a warning[7]? Is it my face?"

"No, ma'am," explained the officer, "it's your foot."
